We’ve been building this for a long time, but we’re entering a new era. Almost 10 years ago Lottie organised a supper club and from there, The Copy Club was born (as we used to be known). Until recently, we’ve been a space for all start-up marketers, focused on community. Our members are highly engaged and Up Club is low-key life changing for them. Excitingly, there is now fairly healthy brand awareness within our target market and an untapped opportunity to turn that awareness into desire and conversion to new members. The growth rate has really slowed, but we have big ambitions.
We’re refining our proposition and levelling up in many ways, but we need a growth obsessed leader for our next chapter.
The opportunity is to take the brand awareness, positive sentiment, vast customer database and unlock growth.
Up Club has a number of products:
- Up Club is for B2C entrepreneurial marketers at any level. The goal here is to significantly grow the number of engaged members.
- Big Up Club is application only, exclusive network of Marketing Directors. The goal is to expand to 200 members in the next 18 months, going slow and steady to ensure quality experience.
- The Marketing Accelerator is our leadership program that will be the cornerstone of a range of learning programs in the future.
- Up Fest is our annual members-only festival.
We are looking for an autonomous, entrepreneurial leader to take ownership of Up World membership growth and product sales.
You'll be…
- Defining and implementing growth marketing to increase members and product sales. Note, while there is a team, they own the members experience and retention rates, so this position is 70% operational
- We believe there are incredible results that can come from “growth loops” within our current business and from our existing data
- We have incredible partners who are really engaged with our audience, but we’re not working effectively with them to acquire new members
- Scaling through paid channels is absolutely a Phase 2 or 3 challenge
- Acting as brand guardian, ensuring all copy and visual output is engaging and executed to a high standard.
- Knowing our target customer intimately and focus on solving their problems
- Set the revenue strategy for Up World. In our no ego culture we are very open to significant change. If you think Up Club should be free, we’re open to it! If you think we need to totally redefine our product offering - we’re open to it.
- Owning the P&L for Up World.
- Leading the Up World commercial performance, working alongside a Senior Community Manager and Community Exec. They are both autonomous, but you’ll be ultimately accountable for the full team’s growth.

- Be growth obsessed, seeing it as more than just paid media
- Have a deep passion for start-up marketing and want to be at the heart of the B2C ecosystem
- Be the kind of marketer who reads newsletters voraciously and borrows ideas from other businesses daily
- Be deeply curious about the customer
- Have experience leading a team
- Be a Hubspot expert and come with strong views on your B2B tech stack and how AI can support our business
- Resilient and comfortable moving very fast
- Autonomous - we have a very supportive culture but this role won’t have hand holding
- Keen to build your own personal brand! We’ll need you to be vocal
💸 Salary: up to £60k depending on experience
🏡 Logistics: We're open to part time or full time, let us know what you're looking for. This is a remote position, you must be able to travel to London 1 day per fortnight.
